‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Action Figures are Coming from Hot Toys

Well it turns out that the cancelation of the Diamond Select Toys’ Mystique action figure from X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn’t mean there won’t be any action figures from the movie made, as Hot Toys is at least going to be making a new Wolverine figure based on his appearance in the movie.

Very little information about the figure is available, but the image popped up on the Hot Toys Community Facebook Page. It appears that there is a small paper, featuring the figure, coming with the Chinese version of X-Men: Days of Future Past on DVD.

Hot Toys has been working on creating more X-Men figures and you may have already seen the Professor Xavier figure revealed at the 2012 Anicom Fair. At that point the figure was already approved by the movie licensor, but then later on the movie studio told them that they would have to secure the rights for the actor’s head sculpts by themselves, which in turn has caused a delay in any new X-Men product from Hot Toys.

I’m fairly certain that Hot Toys has said in a past interview that they are planning more X-Men figures in the future besides just Wolverine and Professor X, but I can’t seem to locate the interview at this point. But, the good news is that more Hot Toys X-Men figures should be incoming soon, that is if Hot Toys was able to work out a deal directly with the actors.

  1. That’s good to hear. I’m worried that Marvel/Disney isn’t making merchandising to try and get the license back for the movies, but this is way better than nothing.

      1. I know Marvel would like to. They sold the rights to Fox before they had the studio, and as long as Fox makes a movie with those characters every so often, the rights can’t revert back. I would love for them to be in the same cinematic universe though.
