The relatively unknown company World Box has recently unveiled their Mortal Kombat sixth scale figures, which looks to be very impressive. To start off the line they are releasing two of the most iconic characters from the series Kung Lao and Sub-Zero. This article will mostly focus on Kung Lao, but you can check out all of Sub-Zero’s details here.
I have to say I’ve only just started playing the Mortal Kombat games, well the 2011 game, and I’m really enjoying it. These figures are 12″ tall and I have to say they look really impressive, much better than Jakks Pacific attempt some years ago, which were at the time the only Mortal Kombat figures on the market. This makes World Box they only other company to give a stab at making Mortal Kombat figures.
Kung Lao is dressed in his iconic original costume from the video game, being the ninja-esque outfit and the wide rimmed hat, which also doubles as a deadly weapon. His costume is made of soft goods and looks very clean. I particularly love the detail on his shin guards, gauntlets and belt they look very intricately detailed. The body sculpt looks brilliant, as does the head. He very much looks like he does in the latest the video game.
He comes with plenty of accessories including his removable hat with spark accessory, a pair of interchangeable hands, removable gauntlets & bands, broken bloodied neck and hat attack blood splatter which looks absolutely gruesome! There’s also a bloodied skull head!
As you can see in the pictures he’s fully articulated so you can get him in a wide range of action poses performing his signature moves. World Box’s Kung Lao and Sub-Zero sixth scale figures are expected to hit US shelves this summer and are up for pre-order at Big Bad Toy Store for $144.99 each.
