Walmart Exclusive Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Spider-Man Figure Review

Join me as we take a look at the Walmart Exclusive Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Spider-Man Figure Review. This figure is pretty hard to find in Walmart but if your lucky you too can get your hands on one.

The other figures in this line that may be of interest to you are the Amazing Spider-Man and the Lizard.

Packaging

The packaging for this figure is pretty much the same as the Amazing Spider-Man had. Instead of “Movie Series” along the top this guy’s packaging reads “Comic Series”. It is a pretty standard blister card package that does a good job showing his accessories and stand. It does have a white Walmart sticker rather than the blue most people are used to.
On the back of the card, you get a very brief bio for Ultimate Spider-Man and a very nice image of the figure. It reads “Super Articulated” which is true for the most part. You can see along the bottom the other figures in this series Spider-Man and the Lizard. Overall pretty nice packaging.

Out of The Box

Out of the box, Ultimate Spider-Man feels like the Amazing Spider-Man. For the most part, he looks pretty solid. He comes packaged with a figure stand which is the same as the Avengers series, minus the “A” and the plastic is a little bit lighter colored. Accessories for Ultimate Spider-Man is just a clip on web shield with some very nice details on both sides. I like the look the shield has.
He is slightly shorter than the Amazing Spider-Man measuring in at about 5.75″ tall. He is just a teenager so of course he will be smaller than Spider-Man.

Articulation

Ultimate Spider-Man is super-articulated like the packaging said. He does have his limitations though like his head can only move left and right. He has pectoral hinges in his armpits, swivel/hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, and swivel hinge wrists. He has the torso crunch, swivel at the waist, swivel hinge hips, double jointed knees, swivel in the shin and pivot ankles.
His pectoral hinges don’t seem to work as good as Marvel Legends Constrictor did but they still work a little bit. His hips are kind of awkward to work with but over time, you will get used to it. He has a problem with his pivot ankle on his right foot. The plastic was molded weird and you can completely pivot his ankles. Other people are apparently having this problem too.
I wish they gave Ultimate Spider-Man more neck articulation and fixed the ankles. Otherwise, the articulation is pretty solid.

Paint

The paint is ok, nothing really special. The spider on his back isn’t exactly centered which is probably going to annoy a lot of people. There is also a bunch of sloppy spots around the red paint. I do like the eyes on his mask. The paint has a little bit of a shine (kind of hard to see in the pictures). The paint quality needs a little bit of improvement.

Sculpt

The shape of the sculpt on his body is pretty good. There are some places where the 2 torso pieces come together that aren’t really lined up. There are a bunch of places along his body that aren’t really shiny and like they were molded badly. You should be able to see what I mean in the pictures.
Should you buy this figure? If you aren’t a die hard Spider-Man collector you wouldn’t be missing much if you passed this guy up.
