Walmart Exclusive Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Review

Join me as we take a look at the Walmart Exclusive Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Review! This is the last figure for this Walmart exclusive Amazing Spider-Man wave.

The other figures in this series that I have reviewed are the Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man.

Packaging

The packaging has the same feel as the other figures but it is slightly different. This one has Spider-Man on the top right and a lizard on the top right. It is on blister card packaging and does a really nice job at showing off the figure and his accessories (if you count reptile sidekicks as accessories).
On the back, you get one sentence about the Lizard and it shows a nice picture of the figure with his reptile sidekicks. On the bottom right you can see the other 2 figures in this line. This time the “super articulated” is pretty true.

Out of The Box

Right from the start when I saw this figure in the store I didn’t really like him. He just looks very weird. After I moved him around a bit he grew on me. This Lizard figure is absolutely awesome.
He comes packaged with a figure stand that is the same as the Walmart Avengers figures had but without the “A” and it is made of lighter plastic. He also comes with 3 different lizard sidekicks. They are all just plastic and not articulated at all. I wish he came with a torn lab coat to be quite honest.

Articulation

The articulation is absolutely spot on. It is done very well and I am extremely happy about that. His head can move both left and right and up and down. His entire neck is on a hinge so that it can move forwards and backwards. It is kind of weird but I think I like it. Lizard has ball jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double jointed elbows, and swivel wrists. His torso is on a floating joint that allows for movement in all directions. He has ball joint hips, swivel at the top of the thigh, double joint knees, swivel/hinge ankles, and a hinged tail that you can also rotate.
So as you can tell this guy is super articulated. I love his hips too. They are actually at a 90 degree angle so you can move them around easily. I have no complaints about the articulation. Well done Hasbro.

Paint

This figure is lacking a little bit on the paint job like Ultimate Spider-Man. The paint apps are well done, though there are some sloppy spots. The paint job really gives this figure the look that a real lizard would have. There is a bunch of shading that looks amazing. Hasbro actually took the time to make the paint shine. If you are going to get this figure be sure to check the paint for sloppy areas.

Sculpt

As I said before, at first, the sculpt is really weird but it will grow on you. If you put his legs completely straight he measures out to about 8.5″ tall. His head is a little bit too small for my taste but aside from that it shows the movie design for the most part. His body is sculpted with scales and wrinkles all over the place and looks great. His hands are in the open clawing position which is great for action poses.

Should you buy this figure? Yes. This figure is great and is a lot of fun with the Amazing Spider-Man and his webs. Just look over the paint job before you pay for him.

  1. The neck is too much as is. However, if you use the lab coat from one of the earlier lizards (including the 2010 6 inch collection), it covers much of the neck and he will look pretty amazing.
