Images have popped up online indicating that Toys “R” Us will get Hot Toys Star Wars: The Force Awakens Exclusives. The Stormtrooper Squad Leader sixth scale figure is going to be available exclusively at the Hong Kong Toys “R” Us on Force Friday.
There aren’t any official details for the figure, as Hot Toys didn’t make this announcement. The Hong Kong TRU page did. The Hot Toys Secret Base Facebook Page did however share the details about the event from TRU:
It looks like tickets to the event are going to be limited to just 400, and the Stormtrooper Squad Leader 12-inch action figure is limited to just 300 pieces.
It’s unclear at the moment if Hot Toys is only making 300 pieces worldwide, or if 300 pieces are just being slotted for the Hong Kong Toys “R” Us. I personally can’t imagine Toys “R” Us stores in North America carrying this, but I would expect Sideshow Collectibles to probably get a limited amount (likely very limited if any). It really is hard to say if Sideshow will be getting any at all though, as the packaging clearly indicates TRU exclusivity. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything though because the exclusive stickers change depending on the territory they are released in.
What could happen is that the squad leader pauldron is just limited to 300 pieces, and the standard Force Awakens Stormtrooper sees a mass release like any other figure. I would hope that’s not the case though because I would love a Stormtrooper Squad Leader!
