Today is Sunday and it’s time for the 84th edition of the Toy News Roundup. Here we round-up all of the most important toy news of the week from our site, and also link you to any toy news that we didn’t cover. So let’s see what the big toy news was this week, shall we?
HOT TOYS INTERVIEW REVEALS LOTS OF NEW INFO
OSR post a Hot Toys Interview on their Facebook page this week. It answers a lot of questions that I see people asking around the Internet frequently, so it’s certainly worth checking out. Maybe people will stop asking the same questions? Then again… probably not.
KOTOBUKIYA REVIVES GREEN LANTERN’S SUPER POWERS LOOK
Kotobukiya recently announced that they would be doing a line of ARTFX+ statues based on their Super Powers appearances. They have already announced Superman, and now Green Lantern is up next!
MATTYCOLLECTOR TRIES TO SELL THE FIGURES NOBODY WANTS
MattyCollector hosted a #TBT sale this week where they tried to finally sell off the remaining convention exclusives that nobody wants. If you missed the sale and still need to pick up some past exclusives, the prices are probably very low on eBay now.
PREVIEW OF THE UPCOMING HOT TOYS RELEASES
Early in the week, Hot Toys released a backstage image showing off what they are releasing soon. It looks like we have a couple of figures from Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 2, and Back to the Future.
MCFARLANE’S THE WALKING DEAD TV SERIES 7 IS OUT NOW!
McFarlanes newest series of The Walking Dead action figures, Series 7, is starting to show up in stores around the country. The series consists of Michonne, Carl Grimes, Gareth and Mud Walker. There’s also two Exclusives – Hershel Greene and Rick Grimes.
THREEZERO REVEALS FIRST TMNT 2014 FIGURES
Early on in the week, Threezero teased their TMNT 2014 1/6th scale figures again. Then just yesterday, the company revealed a ton on images and information for the Leonardo and Michelangelo figures. Pre-orders are on April 9!
THE QUARTER SCALE AGE OF ULTRON IS UPON US
We knew it was coming, but just this week Hot Toys officially announced the quarter scale Iron Man Mark 43. It looks very impressive, making it hard to decide if I need 1/6 and 1/4 scale Mark 43’s.
EBAY LISTING REVEALS COMIC AVENGERS 5-PACK, BUT IT’S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
There was a new Marvel Legends 5 pack on eBay this week featuring repacks of comic book Iron Man, Hulk, Ultron, Thor and Captain America. Though, later on in the week it was confirmed that it’s going to be an EU Disney Store exclusive.
37+ AGE OF ULTRON HOT TOYS IN A SINGLE IMAGE
As a teaser going up to the Hot Toys Exhibition in Hong Kong, Hot Toys was releasing a lot of teaser images. In this one, you can get a look at 37+ Age of Ultron collectibles in the same image.
THE HOT TOYS ASIAN EXHIBITION
At the exhibition, Hot Toys has an epic life-size Hulk vs. Hulkbuster statue on display out front. Once you make it inside, you can drool over several new, never announced Age of Ultron collectibles.
THE SIXTH SCALE MARK 43 IN ALL ITS GLORY
I was impressed this week when Hot Toys released the final product photos for their Iron Man Mark 43 sixth scale figure. Why be impressed? This is the first time Hot Toys has been able to release a figure before the movie hits theaters.
THIS IS THE FIRST EVER STAN LEE 12-INCH FIGURE
GoHero and Das Toyz announced the world’s first official Stan Lee 12-inch action figure. He’s so awesome that he even comes with an alternate head sporting his elusive beard from the 70’s. If you want him, you better get him quick. He’s limited to just 1,000 pieces.
SIDESHOW TAKES ON MODERN AGE BATMAN
Sideshow Collectibles never seem to have enough of Batman, as this week they revealed that they are releasing a ‘Modern Age’ Batman Premium Format Figure.
THE HOT TOYS ULTRON FIGURES LINEUP
After the Hot Toys Exhibition kicked off, Hot Toys released another backstage image, but this time featuring the different Ultrons. IMO, the Mark I looks most impressive.
POP CULTURE SHOCK’S UPCOMING SIXTH SCALE FIGURES
WonderCon was this weekend and Pop Culture Shock was there showing off their upcoming sixth scale figures. On display they had their Sons of Anarchy Clay and Jax, and then they also snuck in an Alice Cooper sixth scale figure as well. I can’t want to get my hands on Pop Culture Shocks first sixth scale offering.
