Toy News Roundup: ‘NECA’, ‘Comic-Con Exclusives’, ‘Ant-Man’ and the Avengers Assemble

Today is Sunday and it’s time for the 92nd edition of the Toy News Roundup. Here we round-up all of the most important toy news of the week from our site, and also link you to any toy news that we didn’t cover. So let’s see what the big toy news was this week, shall we?

NECA BRINGS THE ORIGINAL 1954 GODZILLA TO LIFE
Since NECA got the Godzilla license, they have been making the different versions of Godzilla as he appeared thought the years. This week they announced the kaiju that started it all – 1954 Godzilla.

PLAY ARTS KAI SDCC BATMAN
Each year, Square Enix attends SDCC. They usually bring at least 1 exclusive, which for the past several years has been Batman. With Arkham Knight coming out soon, Square Enix is bringing a Play Arts Kai Arkham Knight Batman for fans to add to their collections.

ALL OF MATTEL’S SDCC EXCLUSIVES
Mattel finished revealing all of their SDCC exclusives this week and they also had their pre-order event.

NECA SURPRISES PACIFIC RIM FANS
NECA announced a surprise Toys R Us Exclusive this week for their Pacific Rim line. They have recreated Gypsy Danger yet again, but this time the figure is depicting the scene toward the end of the film when Gypsy goes into the Anteverse.

NECA’S ALIEN SERIES 4 IN ALL ITS GLORY
NECA announced that Alien Series 4 shipped out this week. This series features the first ever Ellen Ripley figures featuring the likeness of Sigourney Weaver.

THREEZERO COMPLETES 2014 TMNT LINE, FOR NOW
Threezero announced the remaining two TMNT 2014 sixth scale figures this week. It’s unclear if Raphael and Donatello are going to be the last figures in this line, but one would hope they at least do Shredder and maybe Splinter.

NEW HASBRO ANT-MAN AND SPIDER-MAN FIGURES
Hasbro released a bunch of the official images for toys based on Marvel’s Ant-Man. We are going to be getting 3.75-inch and 6-inch Ant-Man figures, and Hasbro also dropped the info for the new wave of Spider-Man legends.

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A “DAMAGED” FIGURE COULD LOOK SO GOOD?
Hot Toys released some final product images for their battle-damaged Robocop and Alex Murphy sixth scale figure set. Who would have thought a damaged figure could look so good?

ELECTRO LIGHTS THINGS UP
Hot Toys also released the final product images for their Electro sixth scale figure from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In my opinion, this figure looks much better than when he was initially announced.

SCARLET WITCH ARRIVES 
Hot Toys also unleashed Scarlet Witch this week. They did an amazing job. She’s currently available for pre-order here. 

ENTERTAINMENT EARTH SDCC EXCLUSVIES
Entertainment Earth revealed some more of their San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusives. EE usually has something for everyone, so they are worth checking out.

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
The Hot Toys Avengers 2 line is coming along nicely. They should only have a couple of figures left – like Thor, Quicksilver, and whatever else they have planned. Here’s a quick shot of all of the announced Hot Toys Avengers figures. Pre-orders are available here.
