Toy News Roundup: ‘Muppets’, ‘Back to the Future’, ‘Queen?’ and The King of the Seven Seas

Today is Sunday and it’s time for the 111th edition of the Toy News Roundup. Here we round-up all of the most important toy news of the week from our site, and also link you to any toy news that we didn’t cover. So let’s see what the big toy news was this week, shall we?

MUPPETS ACTION FIGURES!
The very first wave of Diamond Select Toys’ Muppets action figures went up for pre-order this week. Now these aren’t Palisades from the early 2000’s, but maybe we can agree they are close enough?

NEW BATCH OF DC COLLECTIBLES
DC Comics solicit the next batch of collectibles they will be offering from March to May 2016. While it’s mostly statues, there is an assortment of DC Icons figures.

HOT TOYS STILL HASN’T LEFT THE FUTURE
For Back to the Future day earlier this week, Hot Toys gave us a preview of their new Marty McFly action figure based on the 2nd film. This isn’t the first time he’s been seen before. Now Hot Toys just needs to finish up their Doc Brown!

THIS FIGURE WILL ROCK YOU
There definitely isn’t enough action figures of music legends. Tamashii Nations announced this week that they will be doing a S.H. Figuarts Freddy Mercury (lead singer of Queen) figure.

GET THE MUTANT LEADER WHILE HE’S VULNERABLE!
You had to have known this was coming. Mezco Toyz is going to be releasing the One:12 Collective Mutant Leader as a solo release. Get him while he’s vulnerable!

A NEW WAVE OF SCALERS
NECA has announced a new wave of their super cute Scalers. This 5th assortment features Deadpool, Daredevil, Arrow and Catwoman.

DOES MICHAEL J. FOX LIKE HIS HOT TOYS FIGURE?
On Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly in Back to the Future) took a look at his Hot Toys action figure and tore it a new one. 

FLAME ON!
The Hot Toys Imperial Army isn’t done expanding just yet, as Hot Toys announced their Flametrooper sixth scale figure this week. I just wish he had real flame effects….

ALIEN SERIES 6 PACKAGING
NECA has released a preview of the card art that the Alien Series 6 action figures will be shipping in. They should be shipping by December.

MOTUC PROBLEMS
Skeleton’s Love Child dropped in on the Matty Collector forums this week to provide updates about figures that were supposed to be released soon.

GENTLE GIANT IS MAKING A MORGAN JONES BUST
But, I think there’s still something to be desired.

Sideshow Collectibles has put their newly announced Aquaman Premium Format Figure up for pre-order. This is really a must have for die-hard Justice League fans.
