Toy News Roundup: ‘Mega Man’, ‘Robocop’, ‘Indiana Jones’ and Hot Toys Strikes it Big

Today is Sunday and it’s time for the 73rd edition of the Toy News Roundup. Here we round-up all of the most important toy news of the week from our site, and also link you to any toy news that we didn’t cover. Unlike previous Toy News Roundups, this one is rather short because there truly wasn’t much news this week. So, let’s see what the big toy news was this week, shall we?

BOOST TO THE STARS
Early on in the week, Hot Toys and Bloggers released the final product images for their highly anticipated Starboost sixth scale figure. The Starboost armor impressed many when it was first announced, but these final product images are a whole new story.

THE MEGA MAN X STATUE THAT EVERY MEGA MAN FAN NEEDS
First 4 Figures announced their 2nd Mega Man statue this week, but instead of being based on the classic version, this guy is based on the Mega Man X video game on Super Nintento. It’s pretty limited, so if you want him you better get him soon.

NEXT ROBOCOP FIGURE ON DECK FROM THREEZERO?
Threezero has really been taking their time making 12-inch figures. That’s not to be taken as a complaint though, since they are now finally getting in the groove since they changed their business focus to licensed 12-inch figures. They are almost done wrapping up their Robocoop line now with the announcement for the pre-order of their Robocop 3.0 sixth scale figure.

HOT TOYS STRIKES AGAIN
Just when you thought Iron Man 3 was done… Hot Toys strikes again. Their latest Iron Man piece is the Mark 25 Striker armor, which was designed for construction with his hammer arms. In the movie this armor played an important part in the House Party Protocol. The figure is a little bit on the expensive side, but he has HUGE hammer arms. Worth it.

SAUL GOODMAN JOINS MEZCO’S BREAKING BAD LINE
Mezco Toyz has finally announced that Saul Goodman will be joining their Breaking Bad line. Though, many of the very large media outlets are calling this the first of the Better Call Saul merchandise, but it’s actually based on his appearance in Breaking Bad. However, they do say that this isn’t the last you have heard of Saul…

THE BEST INDIANA JONES FIGURE TO DATE?
Over the years there have been several attempts at making the perfect Indiana Jones 12-inch figure. Some were good, while others were just straight up bad. Sideshow Collectibles has just announced their newest attempt at the character, this time based on his appearance in The Temple of Doom.

THERE IS ONLY ONE NAME FOR THIS FIGURE
Star-Lord, man. Hot Toys and Bloggers have released the final product photos for the highly anticipated Star-Lord sixth scale figure from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film. The figure has seen some improvements since it was first announced, so it’s defiantly worth considering again if you have already passed on him.

A DEADPOOL HIKARI
Funko’s Hikari Friday celebration this week brought a new mold – Deadpool. He stands about 6-inches tall and is limited to just 1,500 pieces. Going off of how popular the character is, I wouldn’t expect this guy to stay in pre-order status for long!

SURPRISE TMNT MINIMATES
If you are a TMNT fan, then you likely already know that Diamond Select Toys made Ninja Turtles Minimates. They are being sold in the blind-bag format, though this week DST post new photos on their Facebook revealing that there is also 2-packs of minimate keychains. Check them out here.
