About ED-209
ED-209 is a fully-automated peacekeeping machine created by OmniCorp for battlefield control. The ED-209 is equipped with Twin Cobra cannons to provide precision-strike cover for close- combat searches while anti-armor Hellfire missiles offer 360-deployment for defensive / disruptive maneuvers. Its armor is environmentally sensitive yet blast resistant, while all units possess the latest in O-Shield material, wrapping reactive graphene armor on the lightest liquid- steel infused mesoskeletal structure yet. Armed with full media capability – 360 infrasonic cameras and audio targeting – ED-209 operates as evidence recorder, analyzer and transmitter. Real-time backup ensures operational security. The Threezero figure for ED-209 includes fully posable action joints, and articulated head, arms, legs and toes in a highly-detailed mechanical design based on that in the film. ED-209’s armor features a realistic paint application that portrays the machine’s metallic weathering, and its legs are extendable in order to simulate different movements and combat poses.
About RoboCop
Directed by José Padilha, RoboCop stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley and Samuel L. Jackson. In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and OmniCorp – the world’s leader in robot technology – sees a golden opportunity to reap billions for their company. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured, OmniCorp grabs their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and will stop at nothing – no matter the cost to Alex – to make sure the program succeeds. But OmniCorp never counted on one thing: there is still a man fighting inside the machine. The film is written by Joshua Zetumer and Edward Neumeier & Michael Miner, and produced by Marc Abraham and Eric Newman. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Columbia Pictures released RoboCop theatrically on February 12, 2014.
