Threezero Announces ‘Chappie’ Sixth Scale License

Threezero, a company that I think has big potential in the 1/6th scale market, has just announced that they have secured the license to make Chappie sixth scale figures. This is more or less the official announcement, though do keep note that the figure was first seen at Toy Soul 2014 late last year.

Chappie is directed by Neill Bootcamp and just made it into theaters today, March 6th 2015. If you have never heard of the movie, he’s the basic description from IMDB:

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.

There hasn’t been any information released about the figure(s) they are going to be making. The announcement was just the image that you see above.

Though with that being said, it looks like they are at least doing a Chappie 12-inch figure. Gentle Giant also has the license and so far that have only announced a Chappie statue, so that might indicate that Threezero isn’t going to make any of the other characters from the film either, but time will tell.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
