A few months back I did a custom 12-inch action figure review for a different company, let’s just say the results were sub-par. About a month ago I was contacted by ThatsMyFace.com to do a review of their 12 inch head sculpt, and since I love myself so much, I happily agreed. Let’s kick this epic ThatsMyFace.com Custom 12 Inch Action Figure Head Review off with an awesome shot of me with my new Black Sabbath shirt on.
Now this time I’m not going to bore you with all of the tiny details on how you get your custom action figure head done. You basically take 3 images of your head (the front and both sides) and upload them into their website and start creating your figure. You can either make a complete figure, or just get the head like I did.
Here is a nice comparison shot of me and my custom 12 inch head from ThatsMyFace.com.
As you can see the head is pretty accurate. Because of the 3D printer, you still get a little bit of that digital look, but it’s still way better than I was expecting since my last encounter with a custom 12-inch head sculpt.
The hair has a sculpted appearance, but the head is still ceramic or something very similar. The head didn’t come with a neck post to attach the figure onto my body, so good thing I was ready. I attached the head onto a Hot Toys TTM-21 Regular Body. If you buy just the body then it comes with a neck piece that you can attach onto your custom head. I used some putty that ThatsMyFace.com sent me to permanently attach the head onto the post. I am still able to remove the head, turn it, and everything else just like a normal 12 inch figure head.
One thing that I did think was a little bit awkward was that I have a tan. I live in Washington, I don’t get a tan here. In all honesty, I think it was the quality of the picture that I sent to them. The lights were yellowish, probably affecting the final product. If you are going to get your own custom head you may want to take your pictures outside or under white light so that you get the best results.
Above you can see the difference in color from the head and the actual body that I put the head on.
The best thing about custom heads is that you can be anybody. How about Iron Man? Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist? Yes, please.
Overall I’m much more satisfied with this custom 12 inch head over my previous encounter with a custom head. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to be a true genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist. It may not be perfect, but I love it anyways.

Wow, 2 years and no comments ? MUCH better than the other guys. This helped me decide, saving $30 American is not worth it. I wonder if it is a better 3d printer or better software that makes the difference ? Surprised there only seems to be the two companies out there and, better still, that the other company hasn’t upped it’s game. I did find what appears to be a true head sculpt company overseas but at $230 US, I can handle 3d printer. Thanks for your review, I thought 3 heads for the price of one was going to sell me but I would rather hve one head of higher quality.
