Storing Loose Action Figures In Bags
If you have a ton of loose action figures then you probably don’t even have enough display room to show them all off. What are you going to do with the ones that you can’t show off? You have to store them somehow. One way that many people think is a good idea is just simply throwing them in a ziplock back and then placing them in a plastic container will do. This will work if you are only going to store that figure for a short period of time. Watch out for the dangers of storing loose action figures in bags.
Why Ziplock Bags Might Be The Wrong Choice
The plastic that most bags are made from are actually acidic. If you are using them for daily life like storing your sandwich for eating later that day then I’m sure that you will survive. But if you are going to be storing your action figure in there for years on end then you might be having some problems later on down the road.
The acid will slowly over time destroy the paint and even the plastic of the figure is you leave them in the bags long enough.
The Solution
What can you use instead of Ziplock bags. Polypropylene bags. Polypropylene bags are acidic free and you may be familiar with them if you collect comics. These bags were made for storing things that were meant to not be allowed to wear and tear.

You don’t want to be that guy that leaves his collection hidden and then decides to dig some of it out years later to find that almost all of it is destroyed.
