State of the Site: League of Extraordinary Bloggers

This is my first post for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers, since I have been very busy lately. This week Brian at Cool and Collected has requested that we:

Write a “State of the Site” for your web site. How’s it going? What exciting things have happened this past year? Where do you want your site to be in a year’s time?

While my site is still very young and new I still have quite about to say about it. I launched Action Figure Fury just about 3 months ago and I would say it is starting to shape up nicely. I am still trying to find my voice a little bit.

Balancing Act

I am balancing the blog with my action figure business which is actually becoming pretty successful too. Blogging and the business are actually working together nicely. I stay up to date on all the latest news in the action figure community and place orders at the time the news is released on my site.

I enjoy blogging to the max. Sometimes in can kind of feel like a job, but in the end it is always fun. Some people may or may not agree with this statement. Since I don’t really work right now, well I do but I don’t, I have a lot of time to spend on the site. Its a long story, maybe it will jump out of the cage sometime.

I am really starting to get into action figure reviews recently. I really enjoy doing this. I think that it is very helpful for fellow collectors that are on the fence when they are trying to decide weather or not to buy a figure or not. I am still working on putting together a better review format though.

Currently the site is averaging about 800 visitors a day and has had about 20,000 page views in the short 3 months that it has been up! I am very satisfied with this number. Traffic is growing at an outrageous rate recently. I have see traffic jump up by hundreds in the past few weeks. Hopefully this site will continue to be a success.

I would like to thank the people that have used the affiliate links for their purchases. The money generated on these sales goes directly back into the site to buy more figures for reviews!

Social Networking

I need to work on my social networking. It is not doing so well. Currently I am hosting a Sideshow Collectables G.I. Joe Giveaway to help with my networking. Visit the link and sign up! Maybe you will be the lucky winner of a 1/6 scale figure environment! I would love to get to know some more like minded people and collectors a like.

I would like to thank everyone that have visit my site in the past few months!
