Star Wars Live Stream Reveals
Earlier this week Hasbro had a Star Wars panel when they revealed a number of products for their Vintage Collection and Black Series lines. It should be noted that there are more reveals for the Vintage Collection than there were for the Black Series but there were still some nice reveals for that I am really excited about and I’ll get to those later on.
For the Vintage Collection, they revealed the Target exclusive Stormtrooper pack which looks amazing and is a great army builder for that line. I’m surprised that they haven’t done a Stormtrooper pack recently for the Black Series. We do get a lot of great figures in this line like the new Return of the Jedi Emperor which has a different head from the Pulse-Con version which will be out later next month. It was great to see Bib Fortuna joining the line and I know we are getting him in the Black Series as well down the line. Some of the figures like Lando and Lobot really do benefit from the face printing tech. I do like the pattern on the inside of Lando’s cape.
The IG-11 looks great as well and it’s great to have another Mando character in the Vintage Collection line as we don’t get that many of them. I know that the Carbonized waves are a trend in the Vintage Collection and Black Series line but I am not that big of a fan of it but I do admit it does suit some characters very well.
There’s also the Retro multi-colored Stormtrooper but I don’t have any nostalgia for that as that was before my time. The big reveal for the Black Series line was the next Carbonized wave which contains Mando, Greef, Kuill, Armorer, and Moff Gideon. They revealed a 501st Clone Jet Tropper from the Star Wars Battlefront 2 game. He comes with a jet pack and a blaster pistol. They also showed off a mud-covered Mando from the second episode of the first series. I do love the unique sculpt with the chest armor battle damage. Also, Grogu has a unique head sculpt and comes with his first cot which is great! It also comes with the egg he was looking for in this episode.
The more exciting reveal for me was The Power of The Force Yavin Ceremony Leia Organa and she looks fantastic. I grew up in the 90’s so I have a lot of nostalgia for the Power of The Force line so I love the retro card that she is on. The likeness to Carrie Fisher is amazing and I really love the soft goods as well. It should be noted that she will be released on the regular Black Series as well. I’m definitely tempted to get her on the retro card as that was the first line I remembered collecting as a kid.
They also showed off the Black Series Rey Skywalker lightsaber which looks amazing I would love to collect these but I don’t have the money for them. They look so well detailed and Rey’s one is no exception it looks terrific. They also revealed that they would be doing Leia’s lightsaber that we briefly see in the Rise of Skywalker. Speaking of pipeline reveals, They revealed the next line of Archive figures which will be The Emperor, Skiff Guard Disguise Lando, C3-PO, and Dengar. I am very happy that they are releasing The Emperor again from the deluxe throne set so we can use one of those interchangeable heads on it, also Dengar is a fantastic re-release as I missed out on the original one and he’s hard to get on the secondary market.
As the big Pulse Con event is next month I hope we get to hear more on the upcoming Haslab Rancor release and some looks at those other Mandolorian figures that they hinted at a while back and hopefully some other surprises. I should note that the Vintage Carbonized figures and the retro Stormtrooper will be released later this year and all the others will be released early next year.
