Star Wars Black Series Obi-Wan Revealed!

Last night during the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show he hosted an interview with Ewan McGregor and during the interview, Ewan showed the figure during the interview and now this morning Hasbro has released official images of the figure and officially announced that the figure will be up for pre-order on the 11th of May from all good retailers.

This figure is officially titled as Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) The teaser trailer and the actual trailer has been released and in most of the scenes in the trailer, he is seen wearing this outfit. There’s also a blue tunic outfit that he wears in the show and I’m not sure how much we’ll see of it in the series to warrant a figure.

Obi-Wan has more of a in hiding look as he isn’t wearing the traditional Jedi garb. It’s a more stripped-down look with a loose tunic, belt, pants, and boots. The likeness to Ewan McGregor is fantastic and does look somewhat older as it has been 17 years since Revenge of The Sith was released. In the packaging shot, Ewan showed during his interview you could see a blaster pistol and the figure does have a trigger finger hand. Also, he uses that blaster pistol in the trailer, it seems Obi-Wan doesn’t find blasters uncivilized anymore.

Also in the package shot, we saw there was an empty slot in the plastic tray where an accessory should be as there was an indent. It could have fallen out of the tray and into the bottom of the box or wasn’t shown for spoiler reasons. From the shape of it, I guess it was the binoculars that we see Obi-Wan use in the trailers. He also comes with a cloak which is an accessory all Jedi figures should come with and I hope we see it continue in the future.

This figure will part of the same wave with Ewok Village Leia, New Republic Droid, etc. That wave will be out sometime this summer/fall. Hopefully, we’ll some other figures from the Obi-Wan series such as the Inquisitors and Darth Vader…

I am really excited for the series and this figure and I’ll definitely be pre-ordering him on the 11 of May!
