Square Enix Reveals Star Wars Variant Play Arts Kai Darth Vader Figure

Square Enix has officially revealed their Star Wars Variant Play Arts Kai Darth Vader Figure. They’ve given Darth Vader a bit of a re-design with some futuristic Japanese armor and I have to say I really do like the look of it. Sometimes I don’t like the slight redesigns of the characters Square Enix releases in their different lines, but Darth Vader is a win-win.

He’s more muscular than any other iterations of the character, which I really like on this figure. His armor looks more streamlined and protective, like it’s a battle armour of sorts. His helmet is slightly altered as well; It’s incredibly well detailed and retains his armor’s original features, like the box on his chest and his belt.

His cape is shaped like it’s blowing in the wind and also looks great. The paint job is amazing as well, with different shades of black both matte and glossy. Along with the different colors for the buttons and silver for his belt.

His articulation looks to be standard for the Play Arts Kai figures and he comes with a stand to help support those poses.

Speaking of accessories he’ll come with a array of multiple hands to hold his lightsabers and for force poses. He’ll also come with two versions of his lightsaber, which are both lit. One is normal with a hand attached to it. Though i’m not sure if it’s removable, the other one has a swish effect on it like it’s moving. They both look fantastic and really add to the posing variety.

He’ll cost around $1o0 and will be released in May. If you’re a Play Arts Kai fan and a Star Wars fan this figure is a must have. I’m personally thinking of getting it and you should be too.
