Sideshow Returns to Horror

Sideshow Collectibles has always been fascinated with horror. Since day one they made terrifying collectibles of horror icons like Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), Ash (Evil Dead and Army of Darkness), Pinhead (Hellraiser), Vampirella and more!

Sideshow’s name started with the icons of horror and and the Universal Monsters, and now over 15 years later they are going to be returning to some of their best collectibles to remake them with today’s standards in painting, sculpting, and manufacturing.

It’s unclear if they are going to be taking on both Premium Format Figures and Sixth Scale Figures again, but if their recent announcements of the Jason Voorhees Premium Format Figure and the Ash and Beetlejuice sixth scale figures at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 are any indication, then we should be getting both formats updated. This is a good thing, as some of their earliest collectibles could clearly use an update.

Spooktacular is coming up from October 26 -31. This is where we can expect Sideshow Collectibles to reveal more details about their return to horror, and maybe even put up some new collectibles for pre-order!

Bryan first discovered an appreciation for action figures at an early age, setting up elaborate GI Joe ant hill attacks, complete with firework pyrotechnics. Due to the high injury rate for the Joes, replacements were a constant necessity.
