Sideshow Collectibles Reveals Alien Space Jockey Maquette from H.R. Giger’s ‘Alien’
Sideshow Collectibles have recently just revealed the Space Jockey Maquette from the 1979 sci-fi classic Alien, which was featured in one of the most iconic scenes in the film.
“I’ve never seen anything like it.”
The statue depicts the first ever Space Engineer that we saw which was a fossilized sentinel in the flight chair with a hole in his chest from falling victim to his own lethal cargo. I have to say Sideshow have done an outstanding job on this.
It really does look like how it appeared in the film. If I didn’t know better I thought it would be a miniature prop replica. It’s a perfect recreation of H.R. Giger’s creation from the movie and if he was alive I think he would be very impressed with this.
The paint job looks amazing, going from ivory to a dark metallic gray. It also looks worn with rust, which is a great feature. The level of detail is insurmountable it looks incredible. Every little detail that Giger included is here.
As I’m a big fan of Alien I would absolutely love to get this, but I don’t have the space and the price of $599.99 freaks me out. Alien fans that have the shelf space to display this massive piece aren’t going to want to miss out on pre-ordering him. Pre-orders are currently available here.
