Sideshow Collectibles Loki Premium Format Figure based on Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’

Sideshow have been revealing quite a number of comic book themed Premium Format Figures of late, but not all that many from the Marvel Universe. Their latest reveal is undoubtedly one of the most popular characters in the cinematic universe – Loki. Played brilliantly by Tom Hiddleston in Thor, The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World.

For those who don’t know Loki is Thor’s adopted brother. Much like Thor he is a god, and a cunning trickster. He constantly tries to prove to Odin that he’s just as worthy as Thor. Over the years being in his brother’s shadow has made Loki resentful of his father and jealous of his brother.  Now he intends to rule over Asgard as he see’s it his rightful place. What I really love about the character is that he’s never really a true villain at times he shows he actually cares for Thor and they can get along.

I have to say for the most part Sideshow have done an amazing job with this Premium Format Figure of Loki. The only problem that I have with it is the head sculpt. It looks a little bit off, granted it’s a prototype. I can see Tom there but he looks a bit older than he actually is. Honestly, I can say every single other detail of the film costume is perfect.

It looks simply stunning from the signature curved horns helmet to the emerald-green, yellow and black costume; it’s amazing. You can really see all the different layers of clothing. Of course he would have to come with the Chitauri staff in his hand. Which, too, is equally well detailed.

I really love the pose that they have given him with the staff clutched in his hand with the other outstretched like he’s holding the world in his hand which he desires. He wants to rule.

I would love to get this statue but slightly on the expensive side. This statue is available to pre-order here and will cost $459.99. The real kicker about this statue is that it won’t be released till between October to December of next year.
