Many people will argue that the market for action figures is in a steady decline, but with all of the cool things that I saw this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, I’m going to have to disagree. There were a ton of different companies displaying sixth scale figures, many of which have never created 1/6th scale figures before. Sideshow Collectibles put on quite the display at the show, revealing a Sideshow Collectibles Marvel Sixth Scale Collection.
They only had two of their first figures on display at the show, Deadpool and the Wolverine, but this line has the potential to become HUGE. There are over 5,000 characters in the Marvel Library, meaning there is something for everyone. Maybe not if you only hail DC Comics though.
Sideshow’s new Marvel Sixth Scale Collection is going to feature figures from the comics, as well as the movies. Many people have been dying for Hot Toys to make sixth scale comic based figures, but it looks like Sideshow Collectibles is one step ahead of them.
Not on display, but teased by Sideshow Collectibles is a Punisher sixth scale figure. A release date and price hasn’t been given for any of the new Marvel figures, but I would expect them to be inline with their current DC Comics sixth scale collection (about $200 each).
