I should note that this is a 1/4 scale statue will stand over 24″ tall.
This statue depicts how the Joker looked in the brilliant Arkham Asylum game. As I’m a big fan of the game, I have to say Sideshow have got his look down pat with this statue. He’s got his iconic patchwork pin stripe suit on, with the orange shirt beneath sticking out the sleeves and the green bow tie. They even got the squirt gag flower on the jacket lapel. The suit is soft goods and it is very well done. I love how they done the gloves too.
He’s in a playful but menacing pose, like he has the upper hand over Batman holding his revolver in a downward aim pose. The sculpt and paint is absolutely out of this world. I love how his makeup is done on his face, along with the combed back green hair and the very realistic teeth and eyes.
Is it just me or does this Joker looks somewhat like Jack Nicholson Joker? It’s something I’ve only noticed now looking at this statue and writing this article.
This statue of the Joker comes on Arkham Asylum base. It sort of like a short plinth. It’s got a concrete texture to it and around the sides there’s two rusty metal bars and a rusty panel that reads ‘Arkham Asylum’. It’s a great touch.
There’s a Sideshow exclusive version of the statue that comes with an interchangeable head. The alternate head is a laughing expression head and personally I much prefer the original. I’m not sure if it’s the angle that it’s at or something else; it just looks a little odd to me. Though I do like how the eyes or done.
The only thing that’s missing personally for me is a sound feature. Which has some of Joker’s lines from the game in Mark Hamill’s brilliant Joker voice.
One of the images also teases an upcoming Arkham Asylum Batman statue, which coupled with the Joker will make a killer display. This statue will cost you $449.99 and pre-orders are currently available here. If you’re a fan of the Joker in this game and you have the money, then this statue is well worth getting.
It’s a true masterpiece.
