Sideshow Collectibles’ Boba Fett Premium Format Figure is on the hunt
Sideshow has just revealed their Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett Premium Format Figure.
The iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett is depicted a top a building in Bespin Cloud City while on the hunt for the elusive Han Solo. He’s armed with his iconic blaster rifle and wearing his customized Mandolorian Armor with Jetpack. This goes without saying the detail is perfect; he just looks how he appears in The Empire Strikes Back.
You can clearly see the flamethrower on his gauntlet, the Wookie braids and all the scuff marks, dents and dirt on him. The only Boba Fett that I personally can compare it to is the Hasbro Black Series version and of course this one is much better. Before commenting on the armor I have to say I really love how they have done the fabric suit beneath the armor; it makes the statue look much more authentic. The detail on all the armor is amazing; it looks so lifelike with the scratches, dents and scuffs they’ve nailed how his armor looked in the Empire Strikes Back.
The belt looks tremendous and looks to be made of a few parts combining leather and fabric. You can clearly see the sidearm in its holster, though I am not sure if he’ll be able to hold it. Though it looks to be a working holster. The jetpack looks ace; I love all the details on it with light burn marks and rust. The design is fantastic and the rocket looks so real.
The base looks amazing too just like it popped off the film screen with the metal work and piping. I have to say it really completes the statue. In all, he measures 25.5″ high.
This statue is slightly posable with the cape, range finder and head. I’m guessing there is some wiring in the cape. It may not be much but it’ll certainly give you the ability to pull off more than one static pose for Boba.
There is an Exclusive version that comes with a Blastech Industries EE-3 Blaster Rifle Mark II rifle, which is a slightly different gun to the one he is carrying. Being honest I think it looks better than the original gun, as it’s the one I really remember.
The statue will be released next October. The Exclusive Version and the Regular Version will both cost $439.99. If you’re a Boba Fett fan and have the money, either version is simply a must have. The statue is available to pre-order here.
