SDCC 2015 Field Report: Kotobukiya
Our next San Diego Comic Con field report comes from Kotobukiya. The weeks leading up to SDCC, Kotobukiya had been teasing all sorts of new statues. And most were on display in all their ArtFX+ glory.
Koto’s expanding its popular bishoujo line of statues for the second half of the year with a few video game properties; namely Mass Effect and Street Fighter.
The girls from DC were on display, too. Zatanna, Raven and Black Canary. Kotobukiya also showed off a prototype Marvel Lady Deadpool Bishoujo statue. And teased a Spider-Gwen, as well.
One of the more interesting things in the booth were a series of “one coin figure” Li’l Gotham figures. Not much is known at the moment about them. Other than a pack of two figures will retail for 3 dollars. They look like they’re based off of Dustin Nguyen’s Li’l Gotham series, but it appears there’s a bit of a mash-up thing going on, too.
Kotobukiya also showed off it’s growing line of Marvel Now! X-Men statues like the recently announced Emma Frost and the master of magnetism, Magneto. With a prototype of Magik thrown in there for good measure. Can not wait to get a hold of that one.
Also on display at the booth was Kotobukiya’s collection of Star Wars ArtFX+ statues. The AT-AT Driver, a very awesome looking Darth Maul, Snowtrooper two pack and even a familiar gang of rebels from the New Hope.
And finally amongst the Batman family of ArtFX statues a very cool prototype of New52 Red Robin.
There’s plenty more to check out at our SDCC 2015 Kotobukiya gallery.
