SDCC 2015 Field Report: Diamond Select Toys
We kick off our Diamond Select Toys San Diego Comic Con field report with the continuation of DST’s Mego-inspired, Legendary Marvel Super-hero line. The line continues with the Merc with a Mouth himself…Deadpool.
DST and Art Asylum’s line of Minimates pretty much exploded for the second half of the year, with all kinds of figures and 2 packs coming at you. Starting with figures from Marvel Comics Secret Wars and Axis crossovers. But, that’s not even the end of it. There are new Minimates from Spider-Man, the upcoming Ant Man movie, a nice selection of Muppets, the new Queen Alien and Power Loader deluxe sets and even Minimates from Fox’s Gotham.
Not to be left behind, the Select line of action figures continues, as well, with what looks like Ghostbusters getting the biggest push. Diamond’s got Peter Venkman, Annie Pott’s as Janine Melnitz and even the EPA wanker himself, Walter Peck on the way.
But that’s not all the Select figures they had on display. DST was showing new figures from Gotham: Harvey Bullock and Mr. Nigma.
Let’s not forget about the Marvel Select figures, either. The recently announced Dr. Strange made his first appearance in the booth as did Paul Rudd’s Ant Man.
DST also had on display their new Select Liv Moore figure from CW’s iZombie.
Jay and Silent Bob had an impressive showing at DST’s booth. With new figures from Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back, to new black and white Clerks figures to zombie (yes, zombie) Minimates of the boys.
But, the best of the booth? DST’s new line of Batman 66 statues. Julie Newmar as Catwoman? Yvonne Craig as Batgirl? Best sign me up for two of each!
There’s plenty more to see over at our Diamond Select Toys SDCC 2015 gallery.
