SDCC 2014: Moebius Models Brings Exclusive Man of Steel Superman and General Zod Models
Moebius Models has released final images of their SDCC Exclusive Man of Steel Superman and General Zod Models. These models are in the 1/8th scale with General Zod measuring in at 11.5-inches and Superman at 11-inches. They are already fully painted and assembled and come with stands that allow you to recreate the epic battle between Zod and Superman in the Man of Steel movie.
The Superman model features the exact likeness of Henry Cavill in the Man of Steel Superman suit. He’s in a dynamic battle pose and is incredibly well detailed. It’s supposedly modeled on CGI files on the film, though the head sculpt is not entirely clear. There are not many pictures to look at, but I can clearly see the pattern of the material that makes up his suit. It does look very glossy and this brings out the shadow in the model very well. His boots and cape are much less shiny; more matte looking but there is still a slight gloss to them. I really like how the ‘S’ logo is done on his outfit it does look like a separate piece that’s been sculpted on. One thing that I don’t like much like about it is his cape. How it’s shaped makes me feel it’s not in a very dynamic pose. Other than that it’s a great model.
The General Zod Model features Michael Shannon’s likeness, which is much clearer than the Henry Cavill portrait of Superman, and in my opinion looks exactly like him. I must say I prefer the Zod model over the Superman one. His costume is solely black and gray and it looks very glossy giving it a metallic look, which is correct to the film. The costume looks outstanding and very well detailed I love it there seems to be so much more intricate detail in it than the Superman one. I really love the pose it’s more dynamic than the Superman one. Though one thing I don’t like is the cape pose, as it could have been done much better. Zod comes with an alternate helmeted head.
Both models can be put on display straight out of the box. As they both come with a translucent flight stand. They are both limited to 250 pieces and they’ll cost $150.00 each and will available at the Moebius Models booth #2946 at SDCC.
