SDCC 2014: Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker 2.0 Sixth Scale Figure [Updated]
Yesterday, Hot Toys released a preview image of what they are going to be bringing to San Diego Comic-Con, as well as many other international conventions throughout the year. I shared my thoughts on what exclusives Hot Toys would be offering, and boy was I wrong. The Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker 2.0 sixth scale figure is going to be made, that is, if you can place your order fast enough.
Sideshow Collectibles always offers the Hot Toys summer exclusives for sale on their website starting around the time SDCC kicks off. This year should be no different, except for the fact that Hot Toys has actually produced a highly demanded figure as one of their exclusives.
For past years you could say that Hot Toys didn’t really select the best exclusives. Case and point, exclusives from last year are still available for sale at Sideshow Collectibles.
With that being said, Heath Ledger’s amazing performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight left a strong impression among fans, even after all these years. Hot Toys has present an updated version of the Bank Robber Joker sixth scale figure, which they are dubbing the 2.0 version.
The movie-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on Heath Ledger’s image as The Joker in his bank robber outfit in the movie. It features a newly painted head sculpt with upgraded technique, a newly sculpted interchangeable Bozo masked head sculpt with scuff marks, brand new tailored slimmer-fitting costume, detailed weapons, accessories, and a backdrop of the school bus used in Gotham National Bank heist.
This 2.0 version of the Bank Robber Joker is different from the previous release, making the original still hold its value. Hot Toys has listed prices on their website at 1,680 HKD, which translates to about $216 USD. You can probably expect a little bit of a markup since Hot Toys is based in Hong Kong and they have to ship the products overseas. Keep your eyes on this page for pre-orders to go live!
