Tamashii Nations has just unveiled their S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla 2014 figure in celebration of the character’s 60th birthday. This comes shortly after the release of the Godzilla 2014 movie by Gareth Edwards.
I’ve not seen the film and the only Godzilla film I’ve seen is the Roland Emmerich one, so I can’t really say how accurate this figure is to his appearance in the new Godzilla movie. Though I must say that I really like the look of him. He looks very well detailed and there’s a rough texture covering his body. There also looks to be some variation of color on him, especially on his chest and on the back of his legs.
Like many other S.H. MonsterArts figures, he’s in the 7″ scale and he’s fully articulated with ball joints in the neck, shoulders, chest, elbows, hands, hips, knees, and feet. He also has a hinged jaw, allowing you can recreate his roaring pose! I am not sure what articulation he features in his tail, though I would expect it to be similar to other S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla figures. It also looks like he won’t come with any accessories, but if you’re a big Godzilla fan or a collector of the S.H. MonsterArts figures, that won’t really matter.
The figure is expected to be released in October and will retail for $67.99. Pre-orders are now available here.
