Queen’s Lead Singer Gets S.H. Figuarts Freddy Mercury Figure from Tamashii Nations
I’ve been lamenting recently that there hasn’t been enough figures released based on music legends. Then low and behold S.H Figuarts have revealed they are doing a Freddie Mercury figure (lead singer of Queen) in his iconic Wembley Stadium outfit.
I know Tamashii Nations has released a figure of Michael Jackson based on his Moonwalker look some time ago. It’s great to see that they are continuing the music trend with releasing another 70’s and 80’s icon, Freddie Mercury. For those of you who don’t know, Queen is a legendary English rock band who produced such iconic songs such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ , ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ , ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ and many, many more. Unfortunately, in 1991 Freddie died of AIDS at the untimely age of 45.
As I’m a fan of Queen I am very happy that S.H Figuarts are producing a Freddie Mercury figure. I know NECA did some years ago, but that was in their pre-articulated days and is very rare to find now.
I have to say Figuarts have done a fantastic job capturing his likeness and stage personality perfectly. As you can see the figure is fully articulated just like all of S.H Figuarts figures are. It’s beautifully painted as well I must say. They got every single detail exact; It looks incredible.
Accessory wise he’ll come with three interchangeable heads, mic, mic stand and interchangeable hands. Which is all he needs really.
Freddie Mercury is expected to be released in the March of next year and will cost around $54.00 and will be up for pre-order sometime soon. If you’re a Queen fan this figure is a must have.
I sincerely hope we get to see more music legends get the action figure treatment.
