Prime 1 Studio Gives Closer Look at TMNT 2014 Donatello Statue
Back at Wonder Festival 2015, Prime 1 Studio gave us a look at all four TMNT 2014 Turtle Statues. Now we’re finally getting a closer at Donatello from the 2014 film. It should be noted that he is the tallest of the four statues, as he was the tallest in the film and the statue is limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide.
Like all the other statues in the series, he looks incredibly realistic and very much like he did in the film; he’s absolutely packed with detail. I have not seen the film, though I can see that his armor is makeshift from solar panels and various pieces that he managed to salvage. The glasses and goggles are a great touch in my opinion.
I love how the skin is painted, as it looks wet and makes him look incredibly realistic, as well as the gloss in his eyes. The backpack that’s strapped to his back looks very much like it came from Ghostbusters. This statue really shows the technical expert that Donatello is and it looks fantastic.
Of course Donatello’s signature weapon is the bo staff and there’s some great detail on it, but it looks very plain compared to the rest of the statue.
Like the other statues Prime 1 Studio has already announced, his base is street themed so that it fits together with his brothers.
If you’re a fan of the TMNT 2014 film and a fan of Donatello this statue is a must have. It’s not yet known when he’ll be released, or how much he will cost.
