Pop Culture Shock’s Sons of Anarchy Sixth Scale Figures Near Completion, Alice Cooper Makes Surprise Appearance at WonderCon 2015
Pop Culture Shock, a leading US-based manufacturer of licensed statues from properties like Street Fighter, Masters of the Universe, Mortal Kombat, Bravest Warriors, and Judge Dredd, announced in late 2013 that they are going to be venturing from statues to 1/6th scale figures.
We have known for over a year that the company planned to get into making 1/6th scale figures, and now that they have had all that time to fully develop the figures, we are now getting our closest look yet at the finished Sons of Anarchy Jax and Clay sixth scale figures.
Both figures are looking equally impressive, with the detailed head sculpt, finely tailored outfits (complete with gang patches), and various character specific accessories, like interchangeable hands.
These figures are currently on display at WonderCon 2015 while they wait for licensor approval and a pre-order/release date. Surprisingly the company is also displaying a Alice Cooper sixth scale figure, complete with a bunch of awesome 12-inch scale goodies.
What’s even more, Pop Culture Shock is also planning a 15+ figure Street Fighter 12-inch line, featuring “the most exciting Street Fighter figures ever made.” They aren’t on display at WonderCon, but you can still get a look at some of the very early prototypes when they were shown at SDCC 2014.
I think the company still has a bit of work to do on the head sculpts to compete with the market dominating Hot Toys, but I also think for now that we just need to look over this minor flaw and support Pop Culture Shock in their new venture.
We need to remember that they are just getting started in the 1/6th scale market, so it’s going to take them time to evolve into a company that many collectors are going to look up to in the future for the 1/6th scale needs. Without support, they aren’t going to see the needed demand, which in turn could result in them stopping to make 12-inch figures.
