New Production Run of Playmates Toys’ Classic Collection Bebop and Rocksteady may be Cancelled

The TMNT Classic Collection, Plamates Toys’ current collector oriented action figure line, has without a doubt been a hit among collectors. Many people have loved the original Turtle brother action figures so much that Playmates has expanded the line to include Bebop and Rocksteady. They have already hit stores around the nation, but the second production run may never happen according to Big Bad Toy Store.

BBTS has already received and shipped out their initial stock of the figures, and another production run was scheduled for a July 2014 release. With Playmates Toys releasing the Classic Collection 1990 Movie Series now, their second production run for Bebop and Rocksteady has been postponed until further notice.

The production for their 1990 Movie Series has taken priority and Big Bad Toy Store can only hope that they will eventually fill all existing pre-orders for the Classic Collection Rocksteady and Bebop action figures. Though, they have not been guaranteed these figures will be produced again.

They suggest that if you are able to obtain the figures from another retailer (possibly your local Toys “R” Us), then you should do so before your collection is left with a major hole.  It’s likely that if you placed a pre-order at any other online retailer and still haven’t received it, they are probably experiencing a similar issue.

During SDCC 2014, Playmates Toys also revealed that Shredder and Kraang are going to be joining the line, though a production date for these figures hasn’t been set.

  1. Hello, I live in Mexico City and there are literally tons of Bebop and Rocksteady in every Wal-Mart and other stores… sadly nobody wants them.
