Play Imaginative’s Quarter Scale War Machine Mark 2 goes ‘RAW’

With Marvel’s recent success with Iron Man 3, collectibles have been plentiful from all of the major toy companies. During the tail end of 2013 Play Imaginative announced a quarter scale War Machine Mark 2 figure and now they are giving it the ‘RAW’ treatment.

What exactly is the ‘RAW’ treatment? It’s essentially just an unpainted War Machine Mark 2 figure. No, it never had an appearance in Iron Man 3 and yes, it’s pretty much just another money grab.

Even though he is just a money grab he still comes loaded with all of the features that you would expect a high-end collectible to come with like an interchangeable Don Cheadle head sculpt, functioning LED lights,  interchangeable hands and of course a TON of articulation.

Generally when we see an action figure that’s a complete repaint/exclusive it costs just as much, or more than the original release. But, Play Imaginative is going to be taking a slightly different approach by passing the savings onto the consumer. Since they don’t have to paint the figure, the production costs are going to be quite a bit less – making the ‘RAW Edition’ of War Machine only about $550USD instead of $610 like the original figure.

This figure is scheduled to be released this June/July in conjunction with the regular Super Alloy War Machine Mark II figure. Pre-orders are now open exclusively in Singapore.
