One:12 Collective Frank Miller The Dark Knight Batman Action Figure from Mezco Available for Pre-Order
Without a doubt, one of the most exciting announcements/reveals at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 was Mezco’s new One:12 Collective line of fully articulated Batman action figures. The figures attempt to redesign the 6-inch action figure market by combining extremely posable action figures with real cloth clothing, in a similar fashion that can be found on modern sixth scale action figures.
Their display at SDCC 2014 revealed several different versions of Batman, including the Frank Miller The Dark Knight Batman Action figure that just went up for pre-order this morning. They also had several different licenses besides just Batman, like Universal Monsters and Judge Dredd.
The figure stands around 6.75-inches tall and features over 30 points of articulation. This, coupled with the real fabric clothing, interchangeable hands, a removable utility belt, a pistol, grappling hook, alternate head, removable cape and an articulated figure stand makes for quite an epic Batman action figure.
Sixth scale action figures will generally run you about $180 each, but this figure in the 6-inch scale is only listed at an SRP of $75.99, which in my eyes is quite the deal. Other extremely articulated action figures, the S.H. Figuarts line for example, can run you nearly that much too, but they don’t feature real fabric clothing.
Over the years, Mezco hasn’t really been known for making super articulated action figures. Actually, they are more known for the opposite – action figures that feature nearly no articulation what so ever. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the final products turn out when they are delivered in January 2015. Pre-orders are currently available here for $10 less than the SRP if you are interested.
