With Hasbro making action figures based on the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, they shouldn’t be having a private “Twas the Night Before Party”, instead they should be going all out at New York Comic-Con 2015 so everyone can see the new figures we need to hunt down. However, Hasbro never actually attends the show and this year is going to be no different. They did however share official images of the new Star Wars Black Series 6-inch Force Awakens figures that should be part of the third Force Awakens wave.
The new figures that were revealed at the private party for press and industry professionals were the First Order Snowtrooper, General Hux, Resistance Trooper, “Villain Pilot”, and X-Wing Pilot Asty. These figures are each in the 6-inch scale and come with character specific accessories.
Look for them in 2016.
NYCC 2015 Star Wars Black Series Images
The new Han stands out for me. (He’s my favorite character anyway.) Others might become more interesting depending on their role in the movie.
I thought Finn’s turd-brown plastic blaster looked ugly and awkward and thought it would be a one-off, not to be repeated, but the rifle in the hands of the Resistance Trooper is quite similar. Same goes for Asty’s pistol. Blech! If I purchase any of those characters, I’ll want to replace those guns with something better from the OT.
