Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Figure Review

Today we are going to take a look at a member of the Foot Clan the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Figure Review! He sure is cold, cunning, and cruel (with razor-sharp armor).

The other figures in this series are Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, Kraang, Foot Soldier, Splinter, and April O’Neil.

Packaging

The packaging in this wave is really nothing special but it sure will jump off the shelf if you are in the store. On the front of the package, you will see “Shredder Deadly Leader of the Evil Foot Clan” along the bottom of the blister. On the right of the blister, it features the 4 turtle brothers.
On the back of the card, you will get a bio for Shredder. On the bottom of the back of the card, it features the other 8 characters in this TMNT line. Personally, I love the fact that Playmates toys has decided to include the bios on all of the figures.

Out of The Box

Once you free the Shredder from his plastic prison he looks great. He feels very solid and has the razor-sharp armor all over. For accessories, Shredder comes packed with a sword and 2 ninja star type weapons (anyone that knows the name feel free to comment). He measures about 5.5″ from the bottom of his feet to the top of the spike on his helmet.
There are a few things that I don’t like about this guy, but we will go over that later.

Articulation

Articulation for Shredder is not so good. I was expecting more after looking at the turtle brothers. His head can spin all the way around and is easily removed for customization. He has swivel/twist shoulders, elbows, and hips. He swivels at the wrists and waist.
What about leg articulation? There is none, what a shame.
Shredder’s articulation is ok at the shoulders and is slightly blocked by his shoulder armor. His elbows are also weird because they actually overextend.
His articulation does have his limits but he is still poseable.

Paint

There is not much paint on the figure but where there is it is done nicely. The figure is really basic and there are some spots where Playmates could have put more paint apps. The straps that hold his torso armor on could have benefited from paint apps for sure.

Sculpt

As said above this is a really basic figure. This does not mean that Shredder looks like a wimp. His bulky stance coupled with his razor armor makes him look like a real threat. His right foot is sculpted so that it appears that he is walking. His feet are also very big so you will have no trouble with balance issues.
For the most part I like the sculpt but I think more paint apps would be really nice. This is a great figure even though he doesn’t have much articulation. Buy this figure if you are a completest or even if you’re not.
