Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo Figure Review
Michelangelo is solid all around. Good articulation (though he can't go ninety degrees on elbows and knees), great sculpt and a tone of weapon accessories. Pain can be a little sloppy, and packaging isn't anything special, but definitely worth picking up.

Other figures in this series are Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Shredder, Kraang, Foot Soldier, Splinter, and April O’Neil.
Packaging
The packaging is alright, it definitely stands out in the store aisle. Bright green and purple on the front and the other 3 turtles are going down the right side of the blister. On the tops right of the blister, it reads “Includes ninja arsenal”. This is definitely true because he comes packed with many accessories (more on that later).
On the back of the card, you will see a TMNT bio and a short bio for Michelangelo. I really like that Playmates put the bios on the back of all the figures in this wave. On the bottom, you will see the other 8 characters in the wave.
Out of The Box
Michelangelo out of the box is a very solid figure. It was made to withstand the beating from a child. He appears to be the shortest turtle of the 4 (see picture at bottom) measuring in at 4.25″. Like all of his brothers, Michelangelo comes packed with accessories. Included in the pack are his signature nunchucks, an odd hook with a chain on the end, and 4 shuriken. The weapons are all made out of plastic so you can’t really bend them. I was scared that they were going to break. I would have preferred if the chains would be a softer plastic so you can do nice poses and change their look easily. Who’s to complain though because he does come with 7 weapons in total.
Articulation
The articulation on all of the brothers is the same. I wish this was the case for the rest of the figures in the line. He has a ball joint head that is easily removed if you want. His shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees are all swivel/hinges. He also has swivel wrists where his wrapping meets the arm, which you can’t really see. His elbow and knee joints are nicely hidden by the sculpted pads.
You can’t move the elbows and knees to a full 90 degree angle, but the figure is still great without that.
Paint
The paint on these figures hasĀ been alright. There are a few spots that you are going to want to look out for like the bandana, wraps, and pads. There can be some sloppy spots if you don’t look carefully before you buy it. His shell and the chest plate have been molded as their color so no need to worry there.
His eyes are painted solid white, which I love.
Sculpt
Sculpts on these TMNT figures so far have been great. He has pads on his elbows and knees that hide the joints. His upper arms are smaller than his hands, but I really like that.
Each of the turtles in this line have different sculpts instead of just new heads. Props to Playmates toys.
If you are going to be getting any of the figures in this line defiantly get the 4 brothers. You won’t be unhappy with them. The other figures in the line I have a feeling are going to be a real disappointment in many ways.
