Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Figure Review

Today we are taking a look at the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Figure Review! I was able to pick up the entire set of the figures, so stay tuned for the rest of the series!

Other figures in this series are Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, Shredder, Kraang, Foot Soldier, Splinter, and April O’Neil.

Packaging

The packaging for the figures in this line is ok to me. It definitely stands out on the shelf when you are in the store. I probably would have passed over them if the package wasn’t so bright.

On the front, you can see the other TMNT figures on the right side of the blister. On the back, you can see the quick information bio about TMNT and a bio for Leonardo. Toward the bottom of the back of the card, it features the rest of the 9 figures in the series.

The packaging is just screaming at me to open it, so I did.

Out of The Box

Out of the box, Leonardo’s first impression is amazing. He feels solid and like he can take a beating from a child. He comes packaged with his 2 Katana swords, additional sword, two throwing stars, three daggers, and a little knife?

All of the extra accessories come on a sprue that you have to pry out. It does involve a little bit of work but it is worth it. You can put 2 of his katanas in the sheath on his back that is removable if you don’t like it. He measures about 4.5″ tall.

Articulation

The articulation is actually very nice for all of the TMNT. Nothing super good, it is a kid’s toy line anyways. But he has a ball joint head that is easily removed if you want.  His shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees are all swivel/hinges.  He also has swivel wrists where his wrapping meets the arm, which you can’t see.

The only thing I don’t like so much about the articulation is that you can’t move his arms to a full 90 degrees. This is nothing bad, but it would make it easier to pose him.

His base is solid and you can easily pose him any way you want. You can even balance him on one leg without any support.

Paint

The paint is where this figure is lacking. There are tons of badly painted parts where paint actually is. Lots of the parts of him are molded the color they are so you just need to look out for the bandana and his wraps mainly.

Sculpt

The sculpt is pretty awesome for all of the TMNT. They each have their own sculpt. Their chests and head are all unique. This is very awesome because I hate when things are reused.

They are pretty true to the cartoon of the 80’s also. I would definitely recommend you get all of the turtles from this line if you don’t want to buy them all.
