Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kraang Figure Review
Kraang is an interesting figure, and they did a decent job with the sculpt, and limited paint the figure has. However, this figure only has five points of articulation, which really limits posing. Would love some additional accessories too.

Packaging
The packaging is a standard blister card that has bright green and purple that really stands out in the toy store. You can see the turtle brothers on the right side of the blister and the TMNT logo on the top of the card.
When you look at the back of the card you will see a bio for Kraang (yes with 2 a’s) and the rest of the wave of TMNT along the bottom. The packaging is ok, but nothing to poop your pants for.
Out of The Box
Out of the box, the first impression was this figure was not very well made. All the parts of the exoskeleton are pretty small and thin. You have to be careful moving the arms because they are very limited and tend to fall off.
The Kraang sits in the torso area and is made of a rubbery material. In the bottom of the Kraang there is a hole so you can place him on other figures heads. He comes packaged with 2 laser blasters that fit nicely into his hands.
Articulation
Articulation is where the Kraang fails. He just has 5 points of articulation! His head is a ball joint that you can easily move his head in all directions. The shoulders are also ball joints but have minimum movement out to his side. You can move his arms up toward the sky easily though. His hips are on swivel joints, so he is very limited in posing.
Paint
There is not very much paint on the figure but where there is it looks nice. There really isn’t anywhere where you need to watch out for, at least on my figure. I do love the green eyes that they gave Kraang. He actually has eyeballs unlike the other figures in the wave.
Sculpt
The sculpt for the exoskeleton looks sharp. He isn’t really close to how he looks in the cartoon but I don’t think kids will mind. Anal collectors, on the other hand, may get more upset. It would be pretty awesome if they could have done the blue glow as seen in the cartoon here. His left foot is also sculpted to look as if he is walking when you pose him. I would have just preferred more articulation, to be honest.
As for the Kraang himself, he looks like a brain. I like the fact that they made him so that you can easily put him on other figures heads. He also fits nicely into the exoskeleton’s torso.
Overall this figure is definitely weird. The articulation is a disappointment but the Kraang himself is neat. I think you could pass this figure up if you were on the fence before you read this.

Hilariously, you kind of made me want the figure. I thought I was going to disregard this toy, as my budget and focus are limited and I found the glaring lack of articulation (via reviews and in-store inspection) in comparison to the turtle brothers be a major turn-off, so to speak. But now I think I have to save space for him on my shelf and set aside a bit of my cash. Who doesn’t want a metal robot with a squishy brain alien inside of it that can replace the heads of other figures? Seriously.
It fits perfectly on the neck post! That is probably the best thing about that figure, hands down.
