New 52 Justice League DC Collectables Parademon Figure Review
I love the look of this figure, and the sculpt is solid. Paint is generally good though it can have small mess ups. Articulation is solid, with some problems in the hip region. Packaging is great, and the lack of accessories is the biggest con for this figure.

CLICK HEREToday I have a DC Collectables figure to review for everyone. Let’s take a look at the New 52 Justice League DC Collectables Parademon Figure Review!
If you like the figures that DC Collectables is putting out stay tuned for the upcoming Wonder Woman and Cyborg action figures that should be released in November.
Packaging
I think that this packaging is actually really nice. It is quite different from what the other companies do but I like different. It is very simplistic. You have probably seen it used in other lines done by DC, that’s because they use this same packaging style on almost everything. But I wish they could change it up, at least a little.
The front of the packaging has “Justice League” along the top in green and you can see the figure in the window box packaging. I like the green that looks like it is being peeled back, revealing the figure inside. It can kind of be hard to examine the figure for bad paint with the way the window is, so watch out.
On the back of the package, you get a headshot of Parademon, Wonder Woman (coming soon), and Cyborg (coming soon). Along the bottom, you can see the other figures in the line. That is also the lineup that is going to be in the DC Collectables 7 Pack that is coming out this holiday season.
Also, on the right of the package there is a green outline of Parademon and on the right a full-color body image of him. All of the images on the package have a glossy finish and look very nice.
Out of the Box
Out of the box, I thought the figure felt pretty heavy. Probably due to his huge badass armor. He feels 100% solid and I don’t think you will have a problem with any part of him breaking. He stands about 7.5″ tall in a pose that he can actually stand up in. You can see a size comparison with the New 52 Superman All Stars. He is a little more than an inch taller than him.
He doesn’t come with any accessories which is kind of sad. He would have been amazing with just about any accessory. He is still pretty cool without anything, though.
I love the new look that DC has given the New 52 Parademon. He has seen many different looks through the years and this one is my favorite by far.
Articulation
Articulation for this guy is not as good as one would like to have but it is still good enough. He has:
- Ball joint neck
- Hinged shoulder pads
- Swivel/hinge shoulders
- Swivel biceps
- Single joing hinge elbows
- Swivel forearm (where gauntlet meets arm)
- Cut hips (forward and back movement)
- Single joint hinge Knees
- Ball joint ankles
Now I would like to say that other people are saying that his head can only look down at the ground. THIS IS NOT TRUE! He can look down, straight forward, or side to side. He is naturally always in a sort of crouching pose, which is comic accurate I guess. The shoulder abduction very good reaching just about all the way up parallel to his shoulders. His arms can bend to 90 degrees and shoulders can fully rotate around. His knees also bend to about 90 degrees and his ankle joints works very nicely.
It would have been nice to see some more articulation in the hip region (either ball joints or a waist swivel) but I don’t really think that it is needed. The other joints seem to compensate where needed. The ankles, for example, compensate for the hips in a way so that you can pose him easier. If you want to have him in a walking pose he looks like he is trying to get to the bathroom before he poops his pants.
Overall I would say the articulation is alright, but there is defiantly some areas that could use some slight improvements.
Paint
Ah yes, the paint. So I picked up 2 of these guys and one of them was perfect and one of them just had one little mess. The one little mess was in the part of the window box that I couldn’t really see very well. It was just a little red smudge of red on his leg but still. I got mad.
I love the gold matte paint on most of his armor with the silver accents. His skin is a dark green and there are red wires running across it in some places. All the paint seems good apart from that one smudge on the leg.
Sculpt
As I said I absolutely love the New 52 look of Parademon. He has big badass armor covering pretty much his entire body. He has huge gauntlets on his arms and big shoulder pads to complement. There are red buttons/dots that seem to be randomly sculpted all around his armor. There are various panels sculpted into all the pieces of his armor, which add complexity. His skin has horizontal lines sculpted onto it. You can see the Parademon’s flesh through the suit on the stomach and back with wires running across it.
His suit also has a little bit of battle damage in some places. It is very minimal, though it is there. There was a bunch of sculpting details put into this figure. Some are very small, but they are there.
Overall I like the figure. It would have been nice to see some accessories like weapons or wings like in the comics or more articulation in the hip region, but the figure is still a lot of fun. He will be a great army builder if you have that extra cash. I definitely recommend you get at least one of these guys.
