NECA’s Deadly Flying Otachi Kaiju Takes Flight Right Out of ‘Pacific Rim’

If you follow NECA’s products, chances are that you knew about or have already picked up their Pacific Rim Ultra Deluxe Otachi action figure. Ever since that figure was released, fans have been begging for the winged version as seen in the Pacific Rim movie. Now that deadly flying Otachi Kaiju has taken flight and landed in plastic form!

This ultra-detailed, fully articulated Otachi has a wingspan of nearly 2 feet and is to scale with the rest of their 7-inch Pacific Rim action figures. NECA has also added a flight stand that not only allows “in flight” poses, but it can also hold a Jaeger action figure so Otachi can carry it aloft. The figure also includes interchangeable tongues.

As a special treat for collectors of their growing Pacific Rim line, the damaged tail stub on this figure can be removed to attach the full tail from the previously released Land Version of Otachi (sold separately).

The Flying Otachi figure is scheduled to start shipping in July 2015 for an SRP of $79.99. Many retailers, like this one, have him listed for $15 cheaper than the SRP though.

Bryan first discovered an appreciation for action figures at an early age, setting up elaborate GI Joe ant hill attacks, complete with firework pyrotechnics. Due to the high injury rate for the Joes, replacements were a constant necessity.
