During SDCC NECA had shown off their upcoming Ultimate Nosferatu Count Orlock (Cover Version figure) this figure had been previewed during Christmas last year when NECA uploaded a checklist of the current and upcoming Universal Monsters/Classic Monsters list and Count Orlock was on it.
I had seen Nosferatu last year for the first time and I was really impressed with it and it holds up very well over 100 years old! For the last year or so we have seen various toy companies release figures of Count Orlock from the film and now it’s NECA’s turn.
It is unusual seeing Count Orlock in color and I have to say it looks incredibly accurate to Max Schreck’s makeup in the film with the unusually shaped head and elongated clawed hands. He comes with pretty much everything he uses in the film including the removable hat, keys, contract, and quill pin plus some extra set dressing goodies.
All the heads and hands look fantastic and I’m quite torn on how I’d display the figure. The gallery really showcases the figure very well with some great homages to some of the shots from the film.
I’m not sure what Cover Version means and I don’t doubt we’ll see a black and white version as well. The figure is scheduled to be released at the end of the year and will cost $37.
