NECA Ultimate Ahab Predator Getting Closer To Release!

Ultimate Ahab Predator is almost here!

In 2014 NECA released Ahab Predator as an SDCC exclusive and sold very well. Then sometime last year NECA announced that Ahab will be getting the Ultimate treatment and he looked incredible.

For those who don’t know Ahab Predator came from the Dark Horse Predator Comic Book series. NECA has released a number of Predators from the comic book series and has more in the pipeline. I have to say as soon as I saw this figure I knew it was a must-have.

As you can see Ahab is a very well detailed action figure much like the rest of NECA’s Predator figures. Ahab gets his moniker because he’s missing an eye and he carries a spear much like Ahab from the Moby Dick story.

I absolutely love the detail in his armor as it looks very unique as he’s an Elder Predator. You can see it looks worn with scratches and stains. One of his shin guards has a wrap around it which is a detail that I’ve only noticed now. He’s wearing a fur pelt at his waist. His upper body armor is very similar to what we have seen on most Predator figures, but it still looks great. I love the detail on Ahab’s head, Ahab has a closed mouth and scarring where one of his eyes were. There’s also a trophy hanging from his neck.

I really love Ahab’s mask it has to be one of my favorite designs. It’s full of intricate mechanical detail. My favorite detail has to be the scratch marks on the mask they look brilliant. We haven’t got many masks with battle damage on. He also has a fabric cape which I do love.

Accessory wise Ahab comes with plenty to help on his hunt for Engineers. He comes with a removable mask and cape, interchangeable gauntlet with a 2 or 3 blade configuration, interchangeable hands, open smart disc, backpack & plasma caster, spear, engineer rifle and engineer skull and spine trophy.

Like all of NECA’s recent Predator’s Ahab features over 30 points of articulation which is standard for the Predators now and it’s likely he’ll have an opening wrist computer which has been my favorite additions since they did the AVP figures.

Also, the packaging is absolutely fantastic as well, this is the first comic book Predator to get the Ultimate treatment. The packaging has a real comic book feel to it with the front very much looking like a comic book cover and the back with comic book panels with images and details on the figure and accessories.

Ahah is scheduled to be released sometime next month and will cost around $25.
