NECA The Thing Station Survival Ultimate MacReady.

During the summer revealed that they had the license to John Carpenter’s The Thing and so far that revealed two different figures of MacReady. The first one is the Outpost 31 version and this is the Station Survival one from the middle part of the film. MacReady comes with the flamethrower, flame effect, revolver, pickaxe, Dynamite bundle, wire spool, petri dish, blood effect, a number of interchangeable hands, and an interchangeable head.

If you know me I’m a massive fan of The Thing I am really excited about this line. I have already pre-ordered the Outpost 31 version and I am eagerly awaiting for it to arrive here in the UK. This version looks even better and is probably the most iconic look for MacReady in the film. I really love all these accessories that he comes with and it’s great that we are getting figures of him with all the weapons he has used in the film as well. I would love to see dynamite strapped to his chest version and a snow-covered version as well that would be incredible!

One of my favorite accessories is the Palmer blood effect from the iconic blood test scene I am stoked that they are including that! Hopefully, we’ll see more figures of different characters and monsters too. This figure is up for pre-order now in the States and will be released in October and hopefully, I can pre-order this figure soon as I would absolutely love to have this figure as it’s high on my wishlist!

Here’s the press release from NECA:

From The Thing, John Carpenter’s acclaimed slow-build horror film classic! Macready is a member of a 12-man research team that finds something that’s been waiting for over 100,000 years in the Antarctic circle… something with the ability to become one of them. Featuring the official likeness of Kurt Russell, Ultimate Station Survival Macready stands approximately 7 inches tall and is fully articulated. Includes interchangeable heads and hands, flamethrower, fire effect, dynamite bundle, wire spool, petri dish, blood effect, revolver, and ice axe.
