As NECA’s Retro line continues to grow it keeps getting better with every figure they release. One of the figures that I’ve been really looking forward to getting is A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2 Freddy’s Revenge Retro Figure.
The figure will be on display today at the Alamo Draft house in New York at a screening of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors.
Ever since NECA announced that they’d be doing a Freddy’s Revenge Retro figure at a screening of Freddy’s Revenge sometime ago, I’ve really wanted it.
As you can see he comes with two new head sculpts, one with a snarling grouchy face, and the other one with his brain exposed and screaming; both of which look absolutely terrific. They recreate Robert Englund’s make up from the film perfectly. The paint job on both heads is outstanding.
He also comes with his fedora hat and interchangeable hands. He then comes with his gloved hand that he has for most of the film and the flesh blade hand from the finale; both look absolutely perfect. I have to say they are making it very difficult for me to choose which way to display him.
As this is Part 2 Freddy, he has the stripes on his sleeves, the look that he retained for the rest of the sequels. You can see that it’s also frayed around the edges as if he’s worn it for quite some time. The jumper looks to be slimmer fitting than the last one.
He also has the Type 2 body, which has been used since the Ghostface figure was released so you’ll be able to get Freddy in a wide range of poses.
What I really love about this release is the original artwork by Nathan Thomas Milliner. It’s absolutely beautiful and it has an old-fashioned poster/comic book look to it, which I really do love. The detail is outstanding and personally I would love to frame it.
Buy Freddy!
