NECA Gives Update and Final Product Images of 1/4 Scale Batman Returns Penguin Figure

As many of you may know NECA are doing 1/4 scale figures based on DC Comics movies. About a year or so ago they did a figure of 89 Batman and now they have followed that up with Danny De Vito’s Penguin from its sequel – Batman Returns. I have to say since when this figure was first revealed I was very impressed with the likeness of De Vito; it blew me away and it still has that effect on me now.

The level of detail is staggering. I have a vivid memory of the character and NECA have nailed it perfectly.

It has taken NECA a while to get this figure in production and it looks to be very much worth the wait. Though the figure’s production has hit a snag and they could not get his iconic umbrella done correctly, so to make up for that they have given him five new accessories. Those accessories are a monocle, an extra hand, a half eaten fish, cigarette in holder and a Cobblepot for Mayor sign. He’ll also come with a removable coat (which looks glorious) and hat.

I’m not sure how well articulated he’ll be as he’s a very rotund character. I feel NECA would of made him as articulated as they could.

He’ll be released in July and if you’re a fan of the film, the character and NECA’s other DC 1/4 scale offerings, I would highly recommend this figure.

Bryan first discovered an appreciation for action figures at an early age, setting up elaborate GI Joe ant hill attacks, complete with firework pyrotechnics. Due to the high injury rate for the Joes, replacements were a constant necessity.
