Over the past month or so, NECA has been showing off little previews for the 18-inch Striker Eureka action figure from Pacific Rim. Now the toy company has “officially” announced the figure and released some new images.
Striker Eureka is Australia’s Jaeger in the film, and in my opinion one of the best Jaeger designs. He features red and blue LED lights in the head and chest. I don’t know how you could get much more accurate than what NECA has done, since the figure was crafted with exacting detail from the actual digital files used by ILM in the creating of the film.
The figure also features plenty of articulation, allowing for you to get the perfect heroic pose. With the announcement of the figure, NECA is claiming that it’s their biggest and heaviest Jaeger they have created yet, but it’s certainly not close to as big as this behemoth.
To my surprise, batteries to operate the LED lights are going to be included. It’s nice that they are included though, since many companies elect to not include batteries to save a couple of pennies.
The figure is scheduled for an April 2015 release date and carries an SRP of $125.99, though this retailer has the figure listed for a cool $96.99.
