Over the years, Thor, the God of Thunder has become one of the most beloved Marvel superheros to ever hit the pages of the comic books. Since that debut over 50 years ago, Thor has gone through many changes including his costume. Sideshow Collectibles has once again returned to everyone’s favorite God to celebrate Thor’s contemporary look with the Modern Age Thor Premium Format Figure.
Back in the early 1960’s, Marvel challenged the legendary comic creator Stan Lee to continue adding characters to their growing roster. Stan struggled to come up with a new hero that was “stronger than the strongest man”. Then answer dawned on him: “Don’t make him human — make him a god.” And so, Thor was born.
Through the years his costume has changed, but even then all of the updated looks for Thor still combined elements from his classic look with slight touches that added to the realism.
Sideshow’s Thor Premium Format Figure depicts Thor with his winged helmet, sculpted metallic mail, a hand-tailored fabric tunic with gold piping and armor disc plates. With his cape flowing in the wind, Thor gets ready to land a mighty blow against his enemy.
