Mezco’s Mortal Kombat X 6-inch Figures Are Up For Pre-Order

One of the surprise announcements at SDCC earlier this year was Mezco acquiring the Mortal Kombat License and also revealing three 6-inch Mortal Kombat figures. Now they are up for pre-order.

The characters that will be making up Series 1 are Sub Zero, Raiden and Scorpion. They are based on their appearance in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X video game, which is scheduled for release in April 2015. Coincidentally all three of these characters have been playable in every single Mortal Kombat game since the beginning and are some of the most popular characters in the series.

All three figures have a brilliant level of detail for 6-inch figures. Mezco has used digital files from NetherRealm Studios (creators of the game) to digitally sculpt these figures. They have done a great job on these figures. You can see the texture and the layers in the clothing along with the muscle definition in arms. The paint job look fantastic too on all three figures. All the detail on the characters costumes are there.

All three figures sport 23 points of articulation so you are able to get them in a wide variety of fighting poses. They’ll also come with character specific accessories and will come packed in blister card packaging.

Scorpion (one of my favorite characters) comes with his signature weapons – two spear tipped wrist chains”get over here”and two intricate swords from the new game, which can be sheathed on his back. He also comes with two interchangeable fisted hands for when he is fighting without weapons.

Raiden comes with four interchangeable hands two with lightning bolts attached and the other two for fighting poses. He also comes with an electric orb which will really add to varying the poses.

Sub-Zero will come with his ice sword and hammer. It’s a shame that he gets the short end with the accessories like an ice shard that could attach to his arms nor interchangeable hands.

I’m a big fan of Mortal Kombat so I’m really excited for these and the future of this line. What characters could be next on deck for Mezco’s Mortal Kombat X 6-inch Figures line? These figures will be released next April and cost around $19; they are available to pre-order right now.
