New MAFEX Figures Unveiled at 2014 Medicom Toy Exhibition

Medicom has revealed new MAFEX figures at the 2014 Medicom Toy Exhibition. They are expanding their Dark Knight Trilogy Line and have just acquired the Star Wars license.

The figures that were revealed in the Dark Knight line are Batman & Batpod, Catwoman and The Joker. In the Star Wars line they have revealed Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. They are in the 6″ scale and are fully articulated, with Darth Vader and Batman’s capes being poseable.

I’ve known of these figures for quite a while and that they have already released The Dark Knight Rises Batman, so it’s uncertain if they’ll be releasing the Batpod on its own or in a set alongside the Batman figure. Also what’s unclear is the accessories that the figures will come with. The only accessories that we can see are Joker’s Cards, Darth Vader’s Lightsaber and the Stormtrooper’s Blaster Rifle. Though if we look at previous releases into the MAFEX line, these figures should come with a whole slew of goodies.

They do look extremely detailed and lifelike for their scale; it rivals NECA in some ways, in my opinion. I really like the detail in the outfits and in the face sculpts (well the characters that we can see their faces). It’s great that other companies are moving into 6″ figures for collectors, as it gives us fans and collectors a wide range of figures without having to buy in to other scales.

I know they’ll be reasonably priced (maybe the Batpod will cost more) around $50.00 but what’s not clear is when they’ll be released. Though I would guess sometime later in the year.
